As we start the week here at Conscious Clothing, we hope you are all adjusting to the recent life changes with calm and pause for what matters most_ your health.
As many of you know, 2020 started out with a life changing breast cancer diagnosis for me. The world seemed to stop as my family and I, and the entire Conscious Clothing team were forced to adapt a new lifestyle. Suddenly, keeping the home and studio clean and sanitary were paramount as my immune system was destroyed by chemotherapy.
Now as we navigate the new threat of COVID 19 hitting home this past week shuttering schools and events across the nation, we have to take even more extreme steps in our home and studio. The most heartbreaking of these was the decision to have the 3 older children temporarily live elsewhere to eliminate some of the burden of being in a self-quarantined, high risk household. This decision has been very difficult for us, but we felt it was best for our family.
At the studio, our staff has been on this journey with us since the beginning of the year. We’ve grown accustomed to the safety protocols of staying home when even the slightest bit ill. We implemented strict hand washing and sanitizing workstations and tools around the studio. Currently, we are asking those who can work from home to do so and shifting hours and schedules to keep staff from coming in contact with each other. I have decided to stay at home so our staff can still come to work as long as they feel safe to do so.
We have so many amazing products in the works- a new EveryBODY line of gender neutral clothing, a summer line of warm weather gear, a relaunch of some kid’s basics, as well as our Home Collection that came out last week! We have put so much time and energy into creating these special pieces for you (and your entire family) all the while battling cancer, dealing with chemo side effects, and maintaining a household.
It is all a labor of love on the part of our CC team!
In light of the social distancing mandates and everyone staying at home, we are currently offering some of our hand-dyed fabrics by the yard and a restock of Quilt Boxes to get your creative energies flowing. We feel it is important to share our projects and our stories with each other and remind ourselves that this too shall pass. Please remember to support small businesses as much as you can at this time. Your community needs you in any way you can help.
The sun will rise again and we will be here doing what we do; making lives better through quality handmade organic clothing!
